Club Wyndham Grand Palms

The location was great, the resort is large and needs a car for transport. Our condo was next to a small lake with ducks, swans and tortoise. The kitchen came with utensils, dishwasher, vacuum cleaner, basically everything you need to stay comfortably. The representative at the reception hooked us to the vacation planner which turned out to be a timeshare meeting. After 1.5 hr, I was given an offer to purchase 100k points for $20k. The offer was to sign up on the spot or nothing, usual pushy salesman style. However, the surprise was a dramatic change of attitude when refused, we were literally shown the door. Anyhow, vacation was awesome and the resort had a swimming pool, gym, sauna, 5 min drive to the beach and plenty of food options in the vicinity.

It is too far and across a highway to walk to the beach or anywhere else. Shuttles run only on the hour until 5pm and only to the beach during the summer. There isn't a shuttle to the airport despite it only being about 15 minutes away. The outdoor pool is warm. The hot tubs are hot. The lazy river is warm but sort of small. The kiddie pools arent as warm as the large pool, which is odd. (They should be warmer.) Staff was nice. Rooms were clean and well appointed. TVs were difficult to operate and dont allow for casting. Beach towels and beach chairs are not provided, though chairs can be rented. (though umbrellas are not available).

The room was very nice, spacious, and exceptionally clean. I really appreciated the overall comfort and quality—so much so that I even took a video to show how well-kept everything was. The only reason I didn’t give a full 5 stars is because of the check-in experience. As a VIP owner, I wasn’t greeted or acknowledged as such, and I also wasn’t informed that there were issues with the internet connection at the time. Because of that lack of communication, we weren’t able to watch TV during our entire stay since the Samsung TVs require internet to operate. Better communication at check-in would have made the experience perfect. No fault to the resort itself—everything else was great. Just a tip for future guests: if you have a small child who tends to run around a lot, I recommend requesting a ground-floor room to avoid noise issues with neighbors below.

Check in was in a building off of 17. Check in was simple and quick. We had to see the VIP desk to get a parking pass and a map to help navigate the resort. We received a quick pitch to see a presentation for a gift. I graciously said no since I just wanted to relax. No presure. Also each of us received a moon pie. The lobby is nicely decorated for the holidays. The drive to our unit was around a half mile away in the Presidential area. The 2nd floor unit had 2 bedrooms and living room/kitchen/laundry. There is a door connecting our unit to an adjacent one. There is a deck off of the main bedroom with a view of tall brush. There are tvs in each bedroom and one in the living room. All flat screen and large sized. Both bedrooms has there own full bath. The main bath has a Jacuzzi. The shower has 2 built in seats. The shower head could be tough on people 6ft tall since it is not really high. Everything that we used in the kitchen worked. The first morning, I looked for coffee filters. We bring our own coffee. I could not find any. The drip coffee maker had 2 bags of regular and 2 bags of decaffeinated coffee. I call the front desk to ask about filters and was told to just put the coffee into the coffee maker. I did not understand. Later, the front desk called back and said the coffee bags contained coffee grounds that were already in a container that acts as a filter. The coffee was standard fare. We went out to buy coffee filters. The gym and indoor pool is a good 8 to 10 minutes walk from our unit. The gym is typical with weight machines, a couple treadmills and a stepper. Free weights are also available. The indoor pool area is warm and the pool is heated. There are around 10 loungers. There is also a hot tub in the pool area. The men's changing area was clean and spacious.

Normally I’d rate this resort as a 5 stars no questions asked. But this visit I rated one star lower due to concierge scheduling my family a 60 minute preview and then not even an hour late for appointment we were told it was cancelled til next year. My family was disappointed because they took our dinner from us, we were looking forward to using our $150 restaurant voucher for the week. I still don’t understand why we have to wait a whole another year for a preview. But whatever…

This place was great. It was clean and everyone was friendly and helpful. There was an indoor/outdoor pool, lazy river, kids pool area and game room. They have an activity room where they offer different things to do at different times (crafts, stuff a critter, bingo) and had other activities in other locations (smores, meet a mermaid). There was so much to do there you wouldn't have to leave. They offer a shuttle back and forth to the beach so you don't have to worry about parking. There was small ponds/lakes around with plenty of geese and turtles to watch while enjoying the porch. The rooms were spacious and clean. We would definitely stay here again.

We booked a studio hotel room from our timeshare. These rooms are upstairs only and there is no elevator. The room itself was spacious. There was a nice size refrigerator, dishwasher, hotplate and dishes in the kitchenette area. The king bed was very soft but also very high off the ground for us short people (5'4"). I felt like I was hurling myself up onto it. There was a washer/dryer combo in the room which we didn't use. The bathroom was large and the tub includes jets. The pool was nice and there was a snack bar there. It was close to a lot of restaurants. Our big complaint was the timeshare meeting they had us go to. It said 90 minutes but we were there for over 3 and a half hours. They were very pushy and would not take a no thank you for an answer.

We enjoyed our stay. It was close to many attractions. They had a lazy river that nice. They had a few broken items. They was a lake behind us that had turtles, egrets and duck.
